Position Overview

The Payroll Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the timely and accurate end-to-end completion of payroll operations on a weekly/biweekly basis. Oversee, direct, and train the Payroll Specialists. Understand and keep up with payroll regulations for federal/state/local taxes, including Canadian payroll regulations, as changes arise. Requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with other departments within the Follett teams. Maintain strict confidentiality of all personnel and payroll information. Ability to prepare/file all necessary payroll reports as required to ensure compliance with federal/state/local payroll tax laws and filings/regulations. Ability to handle processing of all types of garnishments based on legal responsibilities within the payroll department.


Responsibilities



  • Oversee, direct, and train Payroll Specialists on day-to-day operations of the department. Ensure payroll operations are calculated timely and accurately on a weekly/bi-weekly basis. Ability to analyze situations as they occur and make logical decisions to resolve complex problems.
  • Understand and keep up with payroll regulations regarding state/local taxes for both the U.S. and Canada. Manage and help oversee the preparation of statutory reports, tax filings, and year-end processes.
  • High level of organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently to meet strict deadlines. Ability to create working relationships with both internal and external contacts.
  • Ability to multi-task daily work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Execute special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in payroll.
  • Prior Payroll Supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Proficient in MS Office and computer skills.
  • Experience with the ADP Vantage system preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Advanced experience with Excel, including pivot tables and V-lookups.

$40,000.00 - $110,760.00 / year
Pay Transparency
The annual salary/hourly rate range has been established based on the role, experience, skill set, and location. The exact starting salary/hourly rate within the range will depend on the role and the local market. This position may be eligible to participate in one of the Company's incentive plans. The amount of any incentive payment varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
