About The Role

The BSA Support Specialist is responsible for assisting the BSA Officer in the execution of the Bank's Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) compliance program. This includes performing daily and ongoing monitoring duties, with a particular focus on the accurate and timely processing and reporting of Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs). The role requires a strong understanding of banking operations and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and accuracy in all compliance activities.

The pay range for this position is: $20.18 to $30.26 per hour.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  • Reviewing clients for Customer Identification Program (CIP), Account Due Diligence (ADD), Customer Due Diligence (CDD), and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD). Distribute exception reports to applicable division staff for corrective action and follow up to assure corrections are made.
  • Work with the Centralized Bank Secrecy Act Team (CBSAT) to investigate transactions that are suspicious in nature.
  • Maintaining the end-to-end Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) process, from initial review and data collection to accurate and timely filing with CBSAT.
  • Ensuring completeness and accuracy of data related to Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) for all staff.
  • Conducting initial reviews of CTR reports and potential exemptions.
    Assisting with reviews of High-Risk Customers and other clients designated as requiring additional monitoring.
    Assisting in acting as a conduit between CBSAT and the division customer in regards to:
  • Initial CTR exemptions and annual reviews.
  • Money Services Business (MSB) reviews and revocations.
  • ATM holder reviews
  • Maintain an understanding and working knowledge of banking operations as they relate to BSA/AML/OFAC compliance, including teller functions, new accounts, wire transfers, electronic banking, and letters of credit.
  • Handle all BSA-related information, documentation, and communications in a secure and confidential manner.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job. Maintain an understanding and working knowledge of banking operations as they relate to BSA/AML/OFAC compliance, including teller functions, new accounts, wire transfers, electronic banking, and letters of credit.
  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws, and regulations, including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
  • Additional duties as requested or assigned.

About You

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND SKILLS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 2 years banking experience required
  • Bank operations experience preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Operate and read a computer terminal screen
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with customers and staff
  • Communicate/hear telephone conversations
  • Lift up to 35 pounds.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Starting salary is dependent upon relevant experience and may vary based on the geographic location of the position.
