Scope of Position:

This actively engaged individual, as part of the quality department, will be responsible for the assignment and delegation of daily job duties and responsibilities of the quality support team. Control escalation to ensure that the needs of production/operations are not delayed.

This position is responsible for delegation of job duties and assignments of the quality staff. This is considered a working role.

This position reports to the Quality & Production Engineering Manager. This role is onsite and is based in Fort Worth, TX.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Schedule and delegate job duties and assignments to team members to ensure all facets of operations has sufficient coverage.
  • Support production and operations staff to ensure all quality related issues are assessed and use escalated as needed.
  • Performs visual, dimensional and functional inspections of assemblies and components.
  • Verifies dimensions against ASME production drawings and specification.
  • Observes air and hydrostatic test.
  • Compares test reports to specifications.
  • Prepares and files associated inspection records.
  • Assists in investigation of process related quality issues.
  • Initiates non-conforming material reports and hold tags.
  • Organizes work area for efficient workflow.
  • Attends safety, departmental and company meetings.
  • Performs other duties as required
  • Assume responsibility for other projects and duties as assigned by the direct manager for the department.
  • Exercise diligence in regard to Watts Value (Integrity, Accountability, Continuous Improvement, Transparency)
  • Travel Requirements: up to 15%

Required Qualifications

  • High School education or equivalent with technical training preferred.
  • Five years' experience in a manufacturing environment i.e.: welding, metal fabrication, or assembly.
  • One year of team leader experience
  • Understanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices and procedures, as applicable.
  • Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks, and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ASME fabrication & inspection experience
  • ASQ Certification
  • APICS Certification
  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
  • Microsoft Office Certification

Working Conditions: While performing the job duties, you will be working on-site in a manufacturing facility. You will be required to work at the Company's Fort Worth TX location. Your scheduled work hours will be communicated to you by your manager.

Physical Requirements: Specific physical abilities required for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to physically move around manufacturing floor.
  • Ability to read documents and communicate clearly with management and coworkers.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment, which may include, but is not limited to, safety shoes, hearing protection, and safety glasses.
