Associate Director of Endocrinology and Chief of Clinical Service

NYU Langone Health System
United States, New York, New York
Sep 05, 2025

The Holman Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism at NYU Langone Health (NYULH) invites applications for the position of Associate Director of Endocrinology and Chief of the Clinical Service. We are seeking a nationally recognized physician-scientist or clinician-educator to lead and expand our clinical and translational research programs across a major academic health system.

We would be especially interested in candidates with national recognition in thyroid care, diabetes clinical trials, or metabolic bone disease.

The Associate Director will provide strategic leadership for endocrine clinical services at NYULH's flagship Tisch Hospital and coordinate faculty and fellowship activities across affiliated institutions, including Bellevue Hospital, the Manhattan VA, NYULH-Brooklyn, and NYULH-Long Island. These sites support robust clinical programs that serve as platforms for clinical research and trainee development. The Grossman Pediatric Diabetes Center is a key collaborator in enterprise-wide diabetes initiatives.

A central responsibility of this role is to develop and integrate clinical and translational research programs in diabetes and endocrine diseases across the NYULH system. The Associate Director will work closely with divisional and institutional leadership to build a unified academic endocrine service that advances patient care, discovery, and education.

The Division is internationally recognized for its research spanning lipid metabolism and chylomicronemia, diabetes complications and inflammation, cancer cachexia and the oncoendocrine interface, and nutritional interventions through dietary trials. It also houses a robust pituitary and neuroendocrine program, supported by strong multidisciplinary collaboration with neurosurgery and other surgical colleagues.

The Division is also home to a NIH-funded Program Project in lipid biology and inflammation led by Drs. Ira Goldberg and Mahmood Hussain, an Endocrine-Cardiology T32 training program focused on cardiovascular prevention, and an emerging, cross-campus initiative focused on Cardiovascular-Kidney-Metabolic (CKM) Syndrome.
