What you'll do:

The Accountant assists the Accounting Manager by performing various accounting procedures including month end close tasks, maintenance of the general ledger and related account reconciliations.

As an Accountant, you will be responsible for:

  • Assist in the month-end close, including preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and analyzing and reviewing account classifications in accordance with GAAP

  • Perform monthly sales tax related duties, including supporting the monthly sales tax return process and recording sales tax journal entries.

  • Manage Fixed Asset, Royalty Receivable, and Prepaid Expense accounts

  • Work closely with IT in testing and new procedures between ERP and other systems

  • Monitor cash balances, perform daily and monthly cash management analysis

  • Manage Secretary of State registrations

  • Review vendor invoices and work with the team to rule out discrepancies. Complete invoice corrections appropriately

  • Help with annual audit requirements of outside auditors

  • Participate in the Accounting team's efforts to establish and implement effective financial controls, policies and systems

  • Perform various other tasks as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance

  • 2-4 years relevant experience, ideally gained through increasingly responsible positions

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Effective presentation skills

  • Ability to communicate at all levels within an organization

  • High proficiency with M.S Office Suite, especially Excel

  • Hands on experience with ERP and accounting reporting systems. Dynamics 365 and Avalara experience is considered a plus

  • Analytical and organization skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to work and think independently

  • Flexibility and able to adapt to continual change

  • Champion continuous improvement

Work Environment Requirement:

  • Able to work at a desk for prolonged periods of time

  • Ability to work overtime as needed
