Position Summary

The University of New Mexico Information Technologies EMSS (Enterprise Managed Systems and Services) team is seeking a Systems/Network Analyst 2 to help maintain and expand a robust framework that supports current and future endpoint and identity services in a large and complex academic enterprise. The successful applicants will have expertise in identity management technologies, Microsoft Entra and M365 services, and device management tools. Exceptional communication skills with a thorough understanding of IT systems management, best practices, procedures and standards found in a higher education environment.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Provides support for mission critical services, including over 300 servers, 8000 workstations, and 85000 accounts.
  2. Uses enterprise tools to manage Windows and macOS devices and Active Directory/Entra ID accounts and groups.
  3. Strictly adheres to established endpoint and account standards.
  4. Provides technical assistance on a variety of projects with direct and positive impact to user experience and security at UNM.
  5. Manages ITSM tasks effectively and completes them by their due dates while providing outstanding customer service.
  6. Identifies and capitalizes upon opportunities for automation via scripting, job scheduling and related disciplines.
  7. Documents and publishes information and instructions on systems, services and processes.
  8. Responsible for meeting audit compliance including but not limited to FERPA, HIPAA, PCI, GLBA and Export control.
  9. Serves as backup to SMEs for critical EMSS services.
  10. Troubleshoots and resolves endpoint hardware, software, connectivity and security problems.
  11. Maintains currency of knowledge with respect to relevant technologies and systems.
  12. Provides on-call support for EMSS team's services.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 1 year of progressively responsible experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution and/or experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified may be interchangeable on a year-for-year basis.
