Scope of Position Responsible for daily operations and support of Information Technology infrastructure, network access layer and monitoring systems. This position is in the Information Technology, Business Technology Services group and is committed to assisting The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC) and its patients. Position Summary Oversee the daily administration and meticulous project management of complex, mission-critical infrastructure systems, including structured cabling, power, and physical components within all telecommunications spaces and Data Centers. Collaborate closely with university business units and external vendors to implement, integrate, maintain, and support low-voltage infrastructure systems across construction, renovation, and IT projects. Ensure the delivery of comprehensive Layer 1 and Layer 2 transport solutions that support all business technologies and functions, while adhering to IT Building Design Standards, applicable regulations, and compliance requirements. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 2 years of relevant experience required. 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred. We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented IT Infrastructure Field Operations Engineer to oversee the daily management of mission-critical technology systems across our telecommunications spaces and Data Centers. This role ensures the reliability and performance of structured cabling, power and networking systems, and physical infrastructure components. Along with the support and maintenance aspects of this role, the ideal candidate will collaborate with internal business units and external vendors to implement, maintain, and support enterprise-wide infrastructure technology systems, including network equipment installations and cable patching. This individual must be curious and willing to learn new skills in this role that will further develop their professional knowledge. A growth mindset and eagerness to explore emerging technologies will be key to thriving in this dynamic environment. The ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve small to medium-scale technical issues is essential for success in this role. |
