Scope of Position

The Clinical Engineering (CE) department is responsible for assuring that the patient care instrumentation used within the Medical Center is safe and effective. This involves all aspects of medical equipment asset management including systems planning, pre-purchase assessment, acquisition, installation, functional verification, incorporation into the clinical environment, routine maintenance, corrective maintenance and scheduled updates as appropriate. The CE department works closely with clinicians to identify and address issues involving medical systems applications. The Clinical Engineering staff works closely with hospital administration, finance and procurement to achieve the best value for medical equipment, while coordinating with Facilities Services and Information Technology to ensure systems compatibility.

Position Summary

The Biomedical Engineering Support Analyst (BESA) is responsible for database management in the Clinical Engineering Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) ensuring standardization of data fields associated with assets and work orders. In addition, the BESA will perform Admin Support in the CMMS per requests from technicians to include creating new manufacturers, models, setting Maintenance Definitions, logging work orders in Clinical Engineering department Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS), including the medical equipment inventory and service histories, and the CE parts inventory. Acts as the technology resource for special projects as assigned. Provides assistance to Clinical Engineering Technicians and acts as technical backup as required. Follows cost containment and turnaround guidelines as set by the Clinical Engineering management.

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or GED required. Seeking candidates with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Power Point; experience working with medical equipment desired.
