The Healthcare Quality Intern (Evaluator) will support the Full time Evaluator with various collections, data entry and validation of information pertaining to federally funded substance abuse and mental health grants. This role is essential in the assistance of specific projects which would focus on data collection and validation, compiling and formatting information for annual reporting, and supporting quality improvement initiatives related to Terros Health's federally funded grants.

Unpaid Internship and Must Reside in Arizona

Location: 3003 N Central Ave, Ste 400, Phoenix, AZ 85012

4-hour shifts or 2-hour blocks of time

  • Assisting with the collection, entry, and validation of data related to grant metrics and patient outcomes.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records within electronic health record (EHR) systems and databases.
  • Supporting quality improvement initiatives by analyzing trends and identifying areas for process improvement.
  • Assisting in developing reports, dashboards, and presentations for internal stakeholders.
  • Participating in quality assurance audits and reviews to ensure data integrity.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support compliance with state and federal reporting requirements.
  • Contributing to special projects aimed at improving service delivery and patient care.
  • Other duties as assigned



*Must Currently Be Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Public Health, Social Work, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.


Qualifications

  • Education - Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Public Health, Social Work, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.


  • Training preferred/required - Familiarity with qualitative and/or quantitative research methods, including survey design and statistical analysis.
  • Coursework in health care systems, health care policy, quality in health care, statistics and/or research methods preferred.
  • Interest in health care quality, administration, or program evaluation.
  • Skills preferred/required - Understanding of key public health principles and concepts, including social determinants of health, health disparities, health promotion, disease prevention, etc.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting findings and presenting information clearly.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and analysis.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to manage small projects independently.
  • This role is a non-driving position. Must be 18 years of age and with less than two years' driving experience or no driving experience.
  • Must pass background check, TB test and other pre-employment screening
  • Must have a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance card or apply for an Arizona fingerprint clearance card (Level 1) within 7 working days of assuming role
