Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Controller/Scheduler - JTTOCC located at Eglin AFB, FL supporting the TMAS2 Contract 96th Test Wing (TW).

The Joint Test and Training Operations Control Center (JTTOCC) Controller/Scheduler manages real-time air and ground space operations on the Department of Defense's largest test, exercise, and training range. This role coordinates and controls missions for six USAF Wings, five MAJCOMs, and U.S. Army Special Forces Units.

As the Mission Management Specialist (MMS) and Range Coordination Section Controller (RCS), you will oversee the safe and efficient execution of the 96th Test Wing (TW) Operations Order. Responsibilities include operating the JTTOCC MMS console, ensuring real-time deconfliction of range resources, and developing procedures to optimize mission safety and efficiency.

This position provides centralized, real-time control of all air and ground resources, supporting mission users before and during execution.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • *Must hold an active Secret Clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required."
  • Bachelor's degree in applicable discipline and 3-10 years of experience, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong computer proficiency and organizational skills with expert attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, including professional radio communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within an integrated test team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • 3+ years of experience managing missions or range resources.
  • Prior work in Department of Defense organizations.
  • Familiarity with 96 TW Information Systems, particularly Center Scheduling Enterprise.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate Center Scheduling Enterprise (CSE) software to initiate, modify, or schedule missions as required.
  • Monitor the JTTOCC Common Operating Picture (COP) and ensure aircraft remain within scheduled mission airspace.
  • Track and activate "Hot Map" ground profiles to control access across the Eglin AFB reservation for safety.
  • Review and process AF Form 2407s and Mission Change Requests, coordinating updates with appropriate personnel.
  • Relay airspace call-ups to Eglin Mission Control.
  • Coordinate with USAF Wings to modify mission details (range times, aircraft, air-space allocation) and resolve conflicts in real time.
  • Interface with Aircraft Maintenance Personnel regarding aircraft substitutions or additions.
  • Coordinate airspace requirements with Jacksonville Control Center, particularly during adverse weather affecting commercial traffic.
  • Brief gunship crews on safety procedures, monitor mission progress, and record expenditures.
  • Issue clearances for personnel requiring reservation access while ensuring safety and mission continuity.
  • Manage "Blackboard Missions" and deconflict requests as needed.
  • Notify and coordinate with Jackson Guard in the event of range fires or emergencies.
  • Maintain accurate logs of daily events, airspace activations, and mission activity.
  • Coordinate with range support agencies regarding mission status, cancellations, ex-tensions, and contract-supported resources.
  • Anticipate mission issues and provide real-time solutions, including range extensions.
