How You'll Make an Impact Make a significant impact at a growing firm as an Accounting Supervisor. We are seeking a professional with a successful track record of supervising Project Accountants and partnering with Project Managers with a customer-first mindset to join our highly collaborative team of Project Accountants.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supervise the Project Accountant team, providing guidance, mentorship, and oversight.
  • Build strong relationships and serve as a trusted advisor to Project Managers throughout the full project lifecycle, from notice of award to final closeout.
  • Review project contracts and billing schedules to ensure proper revenue recognition, invoicing, and compliance with contract requirements.
  • Set up and maintain projects in Deltek Vantagepoint in accordance with contract terms; read and interpret contracts for accounting and invoicing implications.
  • Perform monthly and quarterly revenue reconciliations for assigned projects and support month-end and year-end close activities related to project revenue.
  • Prepare and analyze revenue reports, identifying trends and variances, and distribute monthly billing reports to Project Managers.
  • Process labor and expense transfers as necessary, ensuring charges comply with contract requirements.
  • Ensure that accurate and complete invoice packages are submitted to clients on time, including all applicable back-up documentation.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and finance teams to resolve discrepancies in project financials, WIP balances, aged receivables, and collection issues.
  • Monitor project WIP and review monthly aged WIP reports with Project Managers; partner to resolve issues around aged WIP and cash flow.
  • Follow up with clients regarding invoice receipt and payment status; escalate and resolve collection concerns as needed.
  • Work with ERP systems (Deltek Vantagepoint) to extract, validate, and reconcile financial data.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for audit and compliance purposes, ensuring adherence to GAAP and company policies related to revenue recognition.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to internal and external inquiries; investigate issues, problem-solve, and communicate resolutions clearly.
  • Assist in the implementation of process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Uphold the firm's code of ethics and business conduct, fostering a culture of inclusivity, trust, respect, and personal responsibility.
Minimum Qualifications
  • College degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 15 years of experience in project accounting within a professional services firm.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to grow into a supervisory role; prior experience managing or supervising an accounting team preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, conditional formatting, and nested formulas.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, both verbal (phone and video conference) and written, with the ability to effectively engage with a variety of personality types and communication styles.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail, strong follow-through, and the ability to prioritize workload effectively.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Collaborative mindset with a proven ability to work effectively within teams and across departments
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Deltek Vantagepoint for project accounting and financial management.
Compensation: $92,000-$130,000 annually*
  • *Final agreed-upon compensation will be based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, an individual's related experience, education, certifications, skills, and work location. Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check prior to beginning employment.
