About the Role

MWH is seeking an experienced and results-driven Lead Recruiter to play a dual role as both a senior recruiter and a team leader within our Talent Acquisition function. This position will manage high-priority recruitment initiatives while also providing leadership, mentorship, and some management responsibilities for a team of recruiters. The Lead Recruiter will partner closely with business leaders to design and execute hiring strategies, drive process improvements, and ensure an exceptional candidate experience.

This is a full-time, regular position, reporting directly to the Director of Talent and will be based onsite in Broomfield, CO.

Essential Functions


Team Leadership & Management

  • Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching, and mentorship to recruiters.
  • Oversee team workload distribution, ensuring priorities are aligned with business needs.
  • Assist in setting team goals, monitoring performance, and providing feedback.
  • Support the development and training of recruiting staff to build skills and improve outcomes.


Full-Cycle Recruitment

  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process for experienced and highly specialized roles.
  • Conduct intake meetings with hiring managers to define job requirements and recruitment strategies.
  • Source, screen, interview, and present qualified candidates to hiring teams.
  • Negotiate offers and manage the closing process to ensure successful hires.
  • Function as a strategic advisor to leaders on market trends, talent availability, and hiring best practices.


Strategic Talent Sourcing


  • Develop and execute proactive sourcing strategies to build strong pipelines of high-quality talent.
  • Leverage professional networks, LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, and other sourcing platforms.
  • Implement innovative strategies to attract diverse talent across functions and levels.


Process Improvement & Employer Branding

  • Identify opportunities to improve recruitment processes, tools, and candidate experience and execute workflows for enhancements.
  • Lead initiatives that enhance the company's employer brand, including social media, career fairs, and recruitment marketing.


Reporting & Metrics

  • Track and analyze recruitment metrics to assess effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare regular hiring reports for leadership to provide visibility into recruitment progress.
  • Leverage data-driven insights to influence recruitment strategy and decision-making.


Basic Qualifications



  • 8+ years of full cycle recruiting experience, with at least 2 years in a lead or manager capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of sourcing techniques, interview methods, and recruitment best practices.
  • Experience managing multiple requisitions across diverse functions in a demanding environment.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to partner effectively with leaders across functions.
  • Experience coaching, mentoring, or supervising other recruiters.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and LinkedIn Recruiter; familiarity with HRIS and CRM tools is a plus.
  • Ability to occasionally work outside of normal business hours, to conduct interviews, communicate with candidates and business leaders.
  • Willingness to travel to construction sites, campus events, and recruiting activities (10% travel required).


Preferred Qualifications



  • Prior experience recruiting construction candidates, ideally those with heavy civil, mechanical, electrical and/or water/wastewater backgrounds preferred.
