Job Description

Primary Function:

Senior leader responsible for full compliance, product quality and audit of WG Dillon. Assure Wyman-Gordon's Quality systems and procedures satisfy government, certification, and customer requirements, and assure compliance of product shipped to contractual requirements.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Main point of contact with customers, regulatory, and government agencies on all quality related issues, and audits.
  • Control and approve internal procedures.
  • Internal auditing of Wyman Gordon operations to ensure compliance to established procedures.
  • Responsible for the audit and approval of subcontractors.
  • Manage personnel responsible for quality planning, release of product and raw material, and the final certification of product.
  • Manage the Level III NDT Examiners responsible for personnel qualification, special process certifications, procedure generation, and audits.
  • Manage personnel who perform dimensional inspection for Forgings and Discs.
  • Manage personnel performing source inspection, audit, and release of product from subcontract suppliers.
  • Function as the Management Representative as required by AS9100.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with NADCAP, ISO/IEC17025 requirements.
  • Maintain and update the Quality Manual.
  • Review and approval of subcontract requisitions.
  • Quality on new programs, which leads to new forgings qualified by customer, which creates increased sales.
  • Advocate a Quality culture.
  • Coach and counsel team members regarding individual performance and development needs
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge and Training:

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Business or Quality Management. Master's degree preferred.
  • Five to ten years of experience in quality leadership role - preferably in aerospace.
  • Lean Manufacturing Certification / Experience a plus.
  • Experience working in ISO9001 and AS9100 businesses.
  • Knowledge or experience required in the following areas: Forge Processes preferred, Metallurgy, NDT Testing, Material Testing, Heat Treatment and furnace qualification requirements, Blueprint and Specification interpretation, SPC, Machining processes, Customer specifications and requirements, Calibration requirements.
  • Knowledge of Computer Systems (CAD/CAM, ERP, Microsoft Office)
  • Good PC skills and ability to program and maintain Quality Databases
  • New product introduction
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Able to solve complex issues, mental concentration for sustained work periods, patience, and leadership
  • Ability to support a 24/7 operation

Physical requirements:

  • Must be able to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment
  • Must be able to lift 35lbs. when needed
  • Intermittent standing and walking throughout the workday
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
