As a Banquet Set-up team member you will be responsible for making sure the room and event space set up will assist in making each event one to remember by setting up tables and chairs, cleaning and vacuuming the carpets and adding that final touch to make sure the space is ready for our guests. Connected to the newly expanded Baird Center, the Hilton Milwaukee City Center is Milwaukee's largest hotel. Built in 1927 as the Schroeder Hotel, the Hilton Milwaukee offers 729 well-appointed guest rooms and over 34,000 square feet of meeting and event space. At the Hilton Milwaukee, we pride ourselves on continuous innovation through our approach to world-class service, upscale amenities, and superior style. What you will be doing:
- Set up banquet spaces as per Banquet Event Order (BEO) and provide customer service per contract.
- Assist in maintaining and coordinating banquet rooms, including setup, upkeep, breakdown, and cleaning.
- Maintain banquet facility cleanliness by cleaning and vacuuming carpets.
- Work reliably in a 24-hour operation, accommodating varied schedules and high-pressure situations.
- Aid in serving guests as necessary and understand event setup requirements.
- Organize and restock linen room and supplies, attending mandatory department meetings and trainings.
- Uphold quality and service standards.
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
What we are looking for:
- Must be able to work a varied schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and the ability to work under pressure.
- Knowledge of appropriate table settings and proper set-up as well as have basic knowledge of food and beverage service standards.
- Must be detail-orientated, able to multi-task, produce high quality and accurate work as well as show professionalism in all facets of the workplace.
- Must be able to represent the company in a professional, well-groomed and courteous manner at all times
- Previous hospitality/customer service experience is preferred.
