What's new with Aptar The Quality Manager is a key member of the site management team which brings innovative packaging solutions to market for a wide variety of Beauty & Home and Food & Beverage customers. The successful candidate will have broad involvement with product development, manufacturing and warehousing teams and will be responsible for product quality, document control and quality management system implementation, and production system quality. Aptar's programs and processes are fast paced, requiring the candidate to move quickly and confidently, ensuring quality is met at every step of the development and manufacturing process, including post-sale support. Aptar needs a collaborative team member with a strong quality background that will allow him/her to lead the Lincolnton management team in managing quality systems and driving continual improvement. Strong interpersonal skills are required, as are a strong work ethic and attention to detail. This is how your journey begins:
- Primary Champion for the overall implementation of quality and product safety initiatives for manufactured products.
- Facilitate cross-functional teams in order to address and resolve isolated or recurring internal and external quality, manufacturing, and product safety issues.
- Lead responsibility for internal audits, customer audits, as well as ensuring compliance with cGMP, ISO 9001 Quality Standards and SQF for Food Safety in Packaging.
- Develop, track, and drive continuous improvement activities in order to meet or exceed the facility quality and product safety goals and objectives.
- Communicates directly with customers regarding technical support, manufacturing issues, product safety and quality non-conformances.
- Develop strong relationships with critical customer stakeholders as well as critical suppliers, adding value to those relationships while strengthening the customer-supplier relationship.
- Excellent communication skills. An ability to persuasively present information both orally and in writing and an ability to make presentations to executive team members as well as to key contacts at major customers.
- Established record of top grading a quality organization and/or development of a significantly stronger organization through creative training, mentoring, and coaching.
- Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts as well as knowledge of applicable statistical tools and models.
- Demonstrated proficiency in root cause analysis and permanent corrective action implementation.
- Responsible for the development and implementation of department strategy that anticipates new product release problems and proactively takes/implements corrective action, escalating as needed, to resolve and achieve customer and product commitments.
- High level of self-motivation, self-confidence, and enthusiasm for operations.
- Provides quality and product safety input for product design and development.
- Provide statistical monitoring of quality as well as training the manufacturing personnel to apply quality measurement tools independently.
- Reviews and approves various specifications from a quality and product safety perspective.
- Provides quality support to the facility management team through directions of QST's and activities toward team objectives and response to actions from team meetings.
- Active involvement in the Quality Improvement Process.
- Oversees the Quality Analytical Laboratory.
- Travel up to 15%, primary to local customers or other Aptar locations.
What you will bring on the journey Education
- BS Degree in Engineering or Science required.
Experience
- 8-10 years minimum experience with demonstrated progressive roles within the quality function.
- Experience managing quality in a fast-paced manufacturing environment required.
- Must possess demonstrated leadership and analytical abilities to facilitate rapid problem resolution in a team environment.
- Working knowledge and proficiency using quality analysis and tools such as root cause analysis, 8D, DOE, FMEA; Six Sigma Lean or DMAIC a plus
- Must have participated in or led the implementation of an ISO 9000 quality system; understanding of BRC or SQF requirements for Food Safe Packaging a plus.
- Working knowledge of Hazard Control Plans and Risk Mitigation in terms of product safety desired.

Non-Mandatory Job Qualifications

- Previous experience in plastic injection molding, forming, high speed automated assembly, or automotive manufacturing is preferred.
- Knowledge of the Hazard Assessment and Control Point process
