Pay information



  • Pay Level: 020
  • FLSA Category: Nonexempt - Hourly
  • Individual pay will be based on skills, experience, qualifications, location, internal equity, and other relevant factors.

A day in the life

The Associate Business Analyst is responsible for supporting business initiatives by eliciting, documenting, and defining business requirements and contributing to system and/or process development for basic projects and/or initiatives. This role works closely with the business units to gain understanding of their business strategy, processes, services, roadmaps, and business operations to influence business decisions, deliver key insights, and optimize solutions. This role will be working within claims and focused on Medicaid Expansion.

Your responsibilities will include



  • Translates basic business needs into solid business and functional requirements.
  • Identifies opportunities, contributes recommendations based on analysis of requirements and future impacts, and determines course of action.
  • Drives work effort for assigned initiatives including business process change/improvement, testing, training, and communication.
  • Identifies, researches, and troubleshoots a variety of information, system, and process issues impacting the overall business operations of the department or division.
  • Supports business initiatives through data analysis, identification of implementation barriers, and performing user acceptance testing of various systems.
  • Functions as a subject matter expert within applicable systems and/or reporting platforms.
  • Facilitates meetings and collaborates between various internal departments and external business partners in a positive way to drive cross-functional stakeholders to reach agreements and effective solutions.
  • Collaborates with staff on process or system issues until full resolution, implementation, and/or ongoing business or systems support is achieved and meeting operational needs.
  • Prepares and distributes reports and metrics by analyzing and summarizing the information and trends.
  • Analyzes and promotes business enhancement efforts with the goal of creating a positive impact on the customer experience and towards creating efficiencies.
  • Supports enhancement efforts to ensure the solution fits the needs of our customers both internally and externally.
  • Performs work under direct supervision. Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.



What you need to succeed



  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, or a related field
  • 1 year of experience in business operations, data analysis, requirements gathering, business analysis, or related work
  • Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Prioritizes and organizes work efficiently
  • Applies analytical thinking to solve problems
  • Collaborates well with others to achieve shared goals
  • Identifies and resolves problems with a practical approach



Equivalent combination of education, experience or training determined to be acceptable by Human Resources may be substituted, unless regulated by contract or program standards
