Tenure faculty (regardless of rank) - persons with the titles of professor, associate professor, assistant professor and instructor who serve on appointments totaling 50% or more service to the university and who are eligible for tenure or who have obtained tenure. Duties and responsibilities are assigned in accordance with the workload guidelines laid out in the pattern of administration of each faculty members tenure initiation unit (TIU) and, as appropriate, regional campus; obligations will include research, service and/or teaching or clinical practice. These faculty will have earned doctorate or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study or possession of equivalent experience. Job Description: The Department of Pathology at The Ohio State University, Wexner Medical Center is accepting applications from outstanding scientists for tenure track/tenured faculty positions at the Assistant Professor level. We are seeking highly motivated individuals with demonstrated potential for creativity and excellence who are using molecular, cellular and system biology approaches to study immunology and pathogenesis of infectious diseases. The successful candidate should have an MD, MD/PhD, PhD, or equivalent degree, a demonstrated record of achievement as evidenced by current-grant funding (K, R01 or equivalent) and publication in leading immunology and infectious diseases journals. The mission of the department is to build an academic pathology program recognized as a national leader in high quality diagnostics, research and education by leveraging state of the art emerging technology, applying new knowledge to meet patient needs, and leading research and educational endeavors. The new faculty member will be expected to be an active participant in advancing this mission by maintaining an impactful independent research program with extramural support, developing scientific collaborations with existing programs (e.g. phpid.osu.edu, cmib.osu.edu and cancer.osu.edu), participating in the teaching activities for medical and graduate students. Individuals must have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
