Position Summary |
The Social/Clinical Research Assistant position will be responsible for implementing and assisting with research studies alongside faculty in the Psychiatry Department. The position will work primarily on a research study including a longitudinal study of mental health and cognitive outcomes during kidney transplantation. Activities will include recruiting, screening, and consenting potential patients for research studies; coordinating study visits; administering and collecting patient surveys and structured clinical interviews; gathering research study data; tracking and follow-up of patients; arranging study payments; building and maintaining databases; gathering and processing laboratory samples; working with the
IRB. The position will assist with other research- related tasks as needed. Studies will take place at
UNC Hospital and affiliated outpatient clinics. Other duties may include electronic medical record screenings and chart abstractions data entry, data quality checks, and assisting with data cleaning and quality assurance, and other tasks as needed. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. |
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
Must be familiar with or able to learn
HIPPA regulations as they pertain to medical research. Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and team-building skills. Professionalism, dependability, and integrity are a must as position will be interacting with and reporting to various professionals throughout the department and health care system. Knowledge of clinical research principles, study design, and methods of data collection. |
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
Previous experience with Redcap, Epic, Oncore, Excel, and R is preferred. |
