Manager, Telehealth

Description The Manager Telehealth participates, plans, implements, manages and evaluates service/department activities for Children's National Hospital Telehealth in accordance with accepted national standards and administrative policies. The Mgr assists with development and management of the division budget, grants and contracts. Through recurrent meetings, the Mgr reviews expense and revenue trends, identifies areas of concern and collaborates with the leadership team to determine methods to remedy. Conducts routine meetings with Executive Director & Director to review potential contract opportunities, international and domestic areas of interest, as well as operational accounts payable and accounts receivable including the finance team when necessary. Assists the Leadership with oversight of contracts to include accounts payable, manages records of service delivery issues/concerns and initiates the formal remedy process if necessary. Participate in the Strategic Financial Planning Committee. Partners with the leadership team to work towards achieving department, divisional and organizational goals that align with the overarching organizational strategic plan. The Manager also collaborates with telehealth and Children's National leadership in the promotion of policies that advance the use of telehealth, facilitates the remote sharing of our clinical expertise and improves access to virtual health care to children in the metropolitan DC, and at the national and international level. Implement advocacy efforts between Telehealth program, Centers of Excellence and the Global Department
Qualifications Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree
(Required)
Master's Degree preferably an MPH, MBA or MHA (Preferred)

Minimum Work Experience
5 years related and progressive experience in healthcare with 3 years of strategic thinking, working collaboratively with groups or teams consisting of all levels within and outside an organization to include international collaborations. (Required)

Required Skills/Knowledge
Familiarity and experience with electronic database research tools, including use of the Internet.
Understanding of management information systems and technology is helpful.
Full command of Microsoft Word, Excel and/or similar software applications.
Budget development, management and forecasting.
Project management and oversight. Familiarity with Grants and contracts, both adherence and management.
Outstanding interpersonal and multilingual skills with at least one language in addition to English is highly desirable.
Eligible to work in the U.S. Disposition to travel within the US and abroad is a requirement.

Functional Accountabilities
Program Administration and Implementation
  • Monitor and ensure advocacy work is in accordance to organizational standards, policies and procedures
  • Establish and implement a communication process and timeline for international requests to include electronic distribution of program specifics
  • Develop strong relationships with pediatric medical care associations internationally
  • Collaborate with Leadership to develop, implement and evaluate services, programs, policies and procedures, and performance standards to achieve program goals
  • Collaborate with Leadership on significant service barrier issues
  • Assist the Leadership team with developing and implement systems to monitor and improve performance and service quality
Structural Empowerment
  • Coordinate Telemedicine advocacy efforts with regional and national members of CHAI leadership.
  • Assistance in the development of regional, national and international telemedicine projects.
  • Actively seeks out national and international pediatric telemedicine opportunities
  • Promotes usage of telemedicine through education and marketing
  • Implement actions to facilitate meeting budget requirements and administer programs within budgetary guidelines.
  • Monitor monthly performance reports and budget variances and resolve discrepancies as needed.
Exemplary Professional Practice
  • Liaison between the Director of Telemedicine, IT staff and partners to remote international/domestic institutions
  • Monitor service delivery and bring all concerns forward swiftly for timely adjustments
  • Maintain frequent contact with international partners, collaborating to increase utilization and improve patient and institution experience.
  • Identify low-utilization and work with the international partner to increase utilization
New Knowledge, Innovationa and Improvements
  • Participation in Telemedicine readiness and other hospital-related opportunities.
  • Attend local and regional conference to gain new knowledge and share enterprise advancements
  • Seek opportunities to expand knowledge of telemedicine advancements
  • Attend ATA conference and share knowledge gained with leadership and staff
  • Work with Legal department to keep abreast of telemedicine laws in partner countries
Leadership
  • Collaborate wit the Telemedicine leadership in the development of strategic goals and the promotion of the regional, national and global footprint of the Telemedicine program at Children's National.
  • Lead the effort to create and maintain international telemedicine website, advertisements and printed material for distribution
  • Oversee international information and collaboration requests
  • Establish and lead regularly scheduled outreach update meetings for national and international business
  • Ensure all clinical personnel are credentialed to provide telehealth in service area
Project Management
  • Develop business plans for new programs, projects and initiatives
  • Create project plans with milestones, deliverables and accountability assignments
  • Deliver projects on time and on budget
