DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will be responsible for conducting both non-commercial and commercial driver license knowledge examinations to assess applicants' physical and driving qualifications, as well as ensuring that vehicles meet safety standards. Your testing duties will involve administering various vision assessments, including telebinocular and color perception tests. A key aspect of your role will be to detect fraudulent activities and prevent identity theft by thoroughly reviewing all relevant documentation, such as applications, birth certificates, social security cards, marriage certificates, court documents, proof of residency, and official documents from the US Citizenship and Immigration Service, Department of Homeland Security, and U.S. State Department, as well as verifying the authenticity of foreign documents. You will maintain a high level of professionalism while providing clear and accurate information regarding driver license applications, testing procedures, results, and complaint processes to customers. - Full-time employment, 80 hours bi-weekly
- Work hours are 8:15 AM to 4:45 PM, Tuesday - Saturday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Overtime and travel as needed
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as a Driver License Examiner Assistant (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Two years of experience obtaining, evaluating, and providing information to the public.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C Driver's License or equivalent and twenty-one years of age at the time of application.
- This position requires no suspensions or revocations of a driver's license during the five year period immediately preceding employment.
- All employees in this job hired after February 28, 2022, are required to obtain an active unrestricted Class M driver's license within the first six months of employment or before the end of the probationary period and maintain it during employment.
