DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position is a key role in wildland fire management within the Clear Creek Forest District, focusing on both the execution and supervision of various wildland fire activities. The primary responsibilities include overseeing wildfire prevention efforts, pre-suppression strategies, active fire suppression, incident investigations, and the implementation of prescribed burns. Additionally, this role involves supporting and supervising state forest maintenance initiatives. As a supervisor, you will collaborate with district managers to guide personnel in the Wildland Fire Program, which encompasses Wildland Fire Responders. Your duties will primarily revolve around ensuring readiness for pre-suppression activities, responding effectively to wildfires, and serving as the Incident Commander on-site. This includes coordinating essential suppression resources, such as aerial support. Following suppression efforts, you will conduct investigations as necessary, compile wildfire reports, prepare billing documentation, and lead or participate in after-action reviews. In addition to your fire management responsibilities, you will also work closely with the district's forest maintenance crew to oversee and direct state forest maintenance projects, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
