Responsibilities

At ECS, we're growing our inspection team in Arizona and looking for experienced Specialty Inspectors with expertise in masonry and concrete. If you're ICC certified, detail-oriented, and ready to lead on high-impact construction projects, this role offers long-term career growth within an employee-owned company.

Responsibilities

As a Specialty Inspector with ECS you will:

  • Conduct destructive and non-destructive tests on construction materials including structural surveys, corrosion analysis, and material verification
  • Observe, inspect, test, and sample construction materials (focus on masonry and concrete) in line with project specifications
  • Document and report field findings accurately and clearly
  • Communicate daily with contractors, project managers, and technicians to ensure alignment on site conditions and any testing needs
  • Maintain field equipment and report missing or damaged items promptly
  • Support calculations, data reduction, and drafting tasks as needed
  • Attend project meetings and provide updates on inspection activities
  • Mentor junior technicians and support training efforts

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of field experience in construction inspection
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Prior work on heavy construction QA/QC projects
  • Must hold at least 2 special inspector certifications from recognized industry bodies (ICC, NICET, ACI, ASTM, NRC, etc.)
  • Current ICC certification as a Masonry Special Inspector
  • Proficiency with tablets/laptops for data entry and daily reporting
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and engineering plans

Preferred Qualifications

  • ICC Concrete Special Inspector
  • Additional certifications in structural steel, soils, and aggregates
  • Strong familiarity with Arizona-specific building codes and site conditions
