Job Summary:

The Mask/De-mask Technician is responsible for masking and unmasking products and parts in preparation for painting or selective plating. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Mask or unmask various products and components for painting or plating.
• Interpret blueprints, work instructions, and verbal/written directions to determine the most effective masking procedures.
• Apply masking tape, paint, wax, and protective devices to selectively cover sections of parts or units.
• Use hand tools such as punches, scissors, brushes, knives, or razor blades to cut, apply, and remove masking materials.
• Position protective coatings on parts/units as instructed.
• Remove tape, wax, paint, and other protective coatings after painting or plating is complete.
• Perform paint touch-ups on damaged areas using a brush.
• Ensure compliance with all processing specifications to meet blueprint requirements and hardware quality standards.
• Follow and promote excellent safety practices at all times.

Qualifications:

• Must be computer literate.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and instructions.
• Skilled in the use of basic hand tools (punches, scissors, brushes, knives, razor blades, etc.).
