About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Structural Engineer with a Professional Engineer (PE) license and a strong background in seismic design and analysis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing the construction of new structures and the retrofitting of existing buildings to meet building code regulations and standards including, but not limited to, high seismic requirements.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Conduct structural analysis and design of buildings and other structures to ensure they can withstand all design forces including seismic.
  • Develop detailed plans and specifications for the construction and retrofitting of structures.
  • Collaborate with architects, construction managers, and other engineers to integrate structural considerations into overall project designs.
  • Ability to perform site inspections and structural assessments to evaluate the condition of existing structures and recommend appropriate retrofitting strategies.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest building codes and regulations and ensure all designs comply with the required standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.
  • Manage projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and coordination of resources.


  • Knowledge of relevant codes and standards, such as ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC 341, IBC, and NEHRP.
  • Ability to perform complex calculations, prepare detailed reports, and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with performance-based seismic engineering and nonlinear dynamic analysis methods.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Valid Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Proven experience in seismic design and analysis (Seismic Category D or higher).
  • Experience with projects that involve a combination of steel, concrete, precast concrete, masonry, wood, cold-formed steel, and general foundation design.
  • Experience with a wide range of infrastructure industries including Public Works, Aviation, Oil & Gas, and Power.
  • Strong knowledge of structural analysis software (RISAFloor, RISA3D, RISAFoundation) and CAD tools (Revit).
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Master's or PhD degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
