Pipe Welder

Responsible for welding pipe, structural components, and related materials throughout ship interiors/exteriors and shipyard facilities using multiple welding processes at our 63-acre site.

• Follow instructions under intermittent supervision and weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
• Operate welding and safety equipment; set up and use common hand and power tools.
• Select and install torches, tips, filler rods, and flux based on metal type and welding specifications.
• Perform TIG, GMAW, FCAW, and/or MIG welding to fuse metal segments; air-arc gouge as needed.
• Detect faulty equipment/materials, troubleshoot problems, and ensure proper storage of tools.
• Maintain steady hand/arm control, close-range vision, coordination, and physical stamina to perform precise welding tasks.
• Perform additional duties as assigned; maintain reliable attendance; follow all safety, environmental, and company policies.
