Role:

Under general guidance, while following established policies and procedures, is responsible for the direct management of the credit union's advertising, marketing, branding and social media functions, including overseeing the daily workflow and quality assurance review of the team. Serves as editor for content creation, including, but not limited to, website, select enterprise systems; as well as enterprise project implementations. Utilizes experience-based knowledge to develop campaigns that meet business objectives, determine target audiences and analysis. Uses tact and problem resolution knowledge to help address member inquiries raised in select digital channels and staff support tickets. Directly supervises the Graphic Design Specialists, Content Marketing Specialist, Social Media Specialist, Marketing Operations Specialist, Email Marketing Specialist and Multimedia Content Specialist. Performs duties and responsibilities in accordance with The Apple Way principles of Team Up, Serve With Purpose, Challenge Yourself and Own It. Remains cognizant of and adheres to credit union policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act. Perform other duties as assigned by the VP of Marketing & Communications or Chief Marketing Officer.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Leads their team's daily operations, assigning tasks and managing workflow through project management software across content creation, event planning and promotions. Maintains stringent editorial and design standards, drives strategic initiatives and ensures regulatory compliance. Oversees campaign distribution, performance tracking, and reporting; responsible for measurement and assessment of marketing effectiveness by using appropriate software and analytical techniques.
  • Executes marketing support for enterprise project rollouts, ensuring branded software solutions meet corporate standards and deliver a consistent member experience. Converts strategic direction into clear deliverables, coordinating cross-functional input and managing execution through the Marketing team.
  • Responsible for the facilitation of Apple's social media, email and digital strategies; oversees its execution and tracking. Keeps abreast of emerging trends and channels for business consideration.
  • Interviews, schedules, trains, assigns work; establishes performance expectations and monitors results of the Marketing staff. Recommends the discipline and/or discharge of subordinates while maintaining required personnel documentation. Coaches and counsels staff as necessary.
  • Remains current on developments in marketing and the credit union industry, including technology enhancements and attends local roundtables, forums and other meetings.

Experience:

Minimum five (5) years of marketing managerial experience is required, including editorial and creative director duties. Financial institution experience preferred. Applicants must demonstrate working knowledge in marketing applications such as Adobe Creative Suite and Google Analytics, project management software (Jira, Monday.com preferred); Microsoft Office 365 required.

Education:
BA/BS degree required, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Advertising or related area.

Interpersonal Skills:

Empowered and confident, with the ability to provide marketing/communications advice to stakeholders throughout the organization through relationship building. Innovative, organized and self-motivated, with a keen interest in driving a cohesive communications sales strategy. Ability to work independently with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, and to interpret and condense complex information in a user-friendly manner for diverse audiences. Collaborates with cross-functional teams (e.g., Web Development, Member Experience, Internal Comms, Community Engagement, other departments) to ensure cohesive execution.

Other Skills:

Excellent project management skills to coordinate resources effectively, organizing and scheduling work to ensure deadlines are met; includes assignment of tasks, gaining stakeholder agreement, and effective progress monitoring. Exceptional quality assurance standards for written and design content. Must demonstrate an ability to work independently and with initiative. An innovative, motivational, creative, energetic personality are a must. Must demonstrate a fundamental understanding of how to expand an organizational footprint online. Familiarity with AP Style preferred.

Work Environment:

Ability to function in a financial institution environment. Hybrid work schedule.
