Overview CJE SeniorLife Weinberg Community for Senior Living is a premier assisted living campus in Deerfield that provides a warm, supportive environment with engaging life enrichment opportunities to enhance the lives of its residents. We help those who require care for rehab, dementia and long-term assistance. We are part of the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago. This position manages the Weinberg Community for Senior Living campus, supervises building maintenance, supervises cleaning and repair, oversees housekeeping staff, and is responsible for safety and security. Compensation: $80k+. Shift: Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm with rotating weekends as part of Manager on Duty program. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for preventative maintenance programs and supervises staff.
- Receives and prioritizes all building maintenance requests and supervises satisfactory completion of maintenance projects.
- Obtains bids for necessary maintenance and capital projects.
- Maintains a current service vendor list and monitors quality of work of all building contracts and service providers relating to building and property operation.
- Responsible for timely unit and building inspections in accordance with safety standards and IDPH regulations including fire. Health and safety codes.
- Responsible for all required drills, safety meetings, disaster preparedness. and other in-services as necessary and appropriate.
- Identifies and oversees the repairs, upkeep and preventative maintenance of building, grounds and equipment.
- Responsible for developing and implementing preventive maintenance schedules and holding team accountable for them.
- Takes appropriate action with engineering department.
- Responsible for maintaining buildings and grounds in accordance with CJE SeniorLife standards and guidelines.
- Responsible for responding to evening and weekend emergencies.
- Participates in the rotating Manager on Duty weekend program.
- Responsible for purchasing building supplies within budgetary guidelines and/collaborating with coordinators of housekeeping and maintenance.
- Maintaining inventory.
- Assists with planning and development of annual budgets and capital replacement needs.
- Develops and implements policies and procedures by way of systems that will improve.
- Responsible for the security operations of the community.
- Supervises environmental, engineering, housekeeping, and laundry staff and for developing and maintaining performance standards for each area of responsibility in accordance with agency and governmental standards.
- Monitors and approves bill payment in accordance with budget and program guidelines within delegated budget amounts.
- Maintains necessary building, equipment, appliance, and service records and reports in compliance with agency standards.
- Interprets and enforces governmental and agency rules and regulations.
- Assists Personal Care Manager and other members of management in responding to residents' and families' building requests and concerns.
- Responsible for overall cleanliness in and outside building
- Responsible for safety and monitoring system of memory care and nurse call system.
- Ensuring requests are completed in a timely and respectful manner by director and/or designated team member.
- Responsible for housekeeping schedules in resident apartments both at Gidwitz Place and Friend Center.
- Supervisory Responsibilities
- Interviewing, hiring, and training employees.
- Planning, assigning, and directing work of staff or volunteers.
- Appraising performance.
- Rewarding and disciplining employees.
- Addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Maintaining relations across Agency departments, functions, and committees as well as community organizations and the CJE Board.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with mechanics, carpentry, electrical, etc., is required.
- Minimum of three to five years of experience in a related field is required.
