Job Summary

An Applications Research Specialist for Dorman Products independently organizes and conducts research of automotive parts from OE manufacturer's sources for use in automotive catalogs.

Primary Duties

  • Leverage real world experience and use expertise and gather, interpret, and validate research of original parts and application data in catalog system in support of sales and market analytics that drive new product development.
  • Analyze all available data to determine the correct connection between OE parts and the specific vehicles they fit and translate that to ACEs standard to support business needs
  • Manage and constantly improve application data in catalog tool to effectively communicate part fitment to the aftermarket and support sales of both new and existing products.
  • Integrate new and existing application data to put Dorman parts into an ideal context that maximizes sales while also minimizing costly returns.
  • Validate, analyze, and use critical thinking to resolve data discrepancies reported by key accounts and customer support line.
  • Utilize MS Access and Excel to Independently assemble, edit, and proofread application charts/files based on all available parts data.
  • Ability to work collaborate cross-functionally in order to support critical business needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Physical Requirement: Capability to lift 20 pounds.
  • Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach, swivel, carry items from one building to another, and speak and actively listen. Noise level is usually moderate.


Education / Experience

  • Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
  • 3 years' related experience and/or training;. retail/dealer experience preferred.
