Job Duties
The Event Manager is a key member of the Central Reservations Office ( CRO) team. This position provides critical leadership in executing daily event operations across high-impact campus venues, including the Main Campus Student Center, Brody School of Medicine, East Carolina Heart Institute ( ECHI), and the Health Sciences Student Center. Overseeing a student staff of approximately 100 Event Assistants, the Event Manager ensures events are executed efficiently, facilities are maintained to a high standard, and clients receive responsive, service-focused support.
The Event Manager plays an essential role in advancing campus engagement by coordinating event logistics for student organizations, university departments, and external partners. This position will provide strong leadership, excellent organizational skills, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The Event Manager serves as a primary operational contact for event clients and campus partners, ensuring that events are executed to the highest standards.
Event Planning & Execution:

  • Oversee all aspects of event setup execution, and breakdown, ensuring that all elements are implementing according to plan and timeline.


  • Review event details and room layouts using 25Live, 7 Point Ops, and Prismm to create clear task plans for the Event Assistant Team.
  • Develop and implement training programs focused on event setup procedures, customer service, safety protocols, and facility standards.
  • Conduct routine walkthroughs before and during events to identify and address safety hazards, facility risks, or accessibility concerns.
Facility & Resource Coordination:

  • Oversee inventory of event equipment and supplies; coordinate preventive maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and condition; recommend equipment upgrades or replacements as needed.
  • Serve as the primary administrator for 7 Point Ops, managing system configurations, user permissions, and workflow optimizations.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to confirm logistics, last-minute changes, and special accommodations.
Administration & Supervision:
  • Recruit, train, schedule and supervise student Event Assistants, ensuring coverage across multiple venues.
  • Approve student time and attendance using PIRATEtime and maintain detailed records of training, performance evaluations, and incidents.
  • Lead regular staff meetings and training sessions to reinforce policies, safety protocols, and performance standards.
  • Enforce department policies and procedures to maintain consistent service quality and accountability.
  • Assist the CRO Director with budget planning by providing data on staffing, equipment needs, and operational improvements.
Minimum Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
License or Certification required by statute or regulation

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education

  • Experience in facility operations and venue logistics.
  • Event management experience, preferably in a university or large venue setting.
