Job Summary The Business Continuity Consultant, working independently with limited oversight, is responsible for the day-to-day management of the company's business continuity program and oversees the progress of the disaster recovery program. The role leads these functions at a strategic and tactical level, ensuring that the vision, goals, and objectives are clearly established and executed accordingly. The role also collaborates in projects focused on business continuity, crisis management, business impact analysis and provides direction to the disaster recovery practices as the enterprise subject matter expert. The role works with senior leaders, the emergency response team, business continuity coordinators and the disaster recovery professional to ensure that operations are maintained or restored in the event of adverse events such as natural disasters, technical failures or human error. Job Responsibilities
- Manages business continuity and provides oversight to disaster recovery of the company's functions and day-to-day management.
- Leads Business Continuity function and and consults on Disaster Recovery functions, ensuring that vision, goals and objectives are clearly set and implemented.
- Manages and coordinates the response to any disruptions that affect more than one key company resource (e.g., people, property, technology) during a major incident or disaster event and may require the implementation of a Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and documentation.
- Serves as subject matter expert for business continuity and disaster recovery practices at the enterprise level.
- Coordinates and consults in the development and maintenance of Business Impact Analysis (BIA) and Business Continuity Plans (BCP) documents for all identified business units and ensures their approval.
- Builds and maintains working relationships and processes across all of IT, all business units and specific members of the executive leadership team.
- Oversees the planning and execution of annual recovery exercises, including meeting goals, schedules, organizational coordinators, supervises during the actual exercise, communicates to all parties internally and externally, and documents actual results and ensures that the recovery is well organized, efficient and successfully completed.
- Develops a comprehensive Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery exercise report that captures actual timelines of events, identifies gaps in recovery and opportunities for improvement.
- Manages and monitors the resolution of deficiencies identified during BCP design, testing and implementation and assists in testing all BIA compliant business critical processes systems, applications and data recovery plans.
- Maintains knowledge of business continuity and disaster recovery principles and best practices through research, industry networking and conference attendance to share knowledge, trends and improvements across the organization.
Job Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in Incident Management, Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery or a related field.
- Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field and/or commensurate work experience.
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full time basis without employer sponsorship.
Location Hybrid defined as three or more days per week in the office. Licenses and Certifications
