Procurement Specialist
Location: Indianapolis, IN OR Lebanon, IN (Onsite, relocation assistance available)
Compensation: $150K-$170K base salary Our client, a leading global engineering and construction services provider, is seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to support a major pharmaceutical capital program. This role offers the opportunity to work on multi-billion-dollar projects in a fast-paced, highly technical environment.
Key Details
Interview Process: Expedited - initial phone screen with corporate team, followed by a phone screen with the Procurement Manager.
Location Requirements: Primarily onsite at project locations in Indianapolis and Lebanon, IN. Open to candidates willing to relocate. May consider Chicago-based candidates who can travel onsite every other week.
Project Type: Pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, large-scale capital projects ($100M+; $1B+ preferred).
Contract Models: EPCM, progressive GMP, open-book contract structures.
Responsibilities
Lead procurement activities for materials, equipment, and labor contracts across all project phases.
Manage day-to-day purchasing operations while supporting strategic procurement initiatives as needed.
Source, evaluate, and negotiate with vendors to secure competitive pricing and favorable contract terms.
Balance engagement with existing suppliers while identifying and onboarding new vendors where beneficial.
Collaborate with engineering, construction, and project management teams to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
Oversee procurement compliance with company standards, project requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
Utilize Ariba procurement software to manage sourcing, contracts, and purchase orders.
Support cost tracking, forecasting, and reporting for procurement packages.
Qualifications
5-10 years of procurement experience in pharmaceutical or industrial sectors such as food & beverage, agrifoods, or chemical manufacturing.
Proven track record of managing large-scale vendor negotiations for labor and material packages on projects exceeding $100M (billion-dollar project experience preferred).
Strong understanding of procurement processes within EPCM delivery models and GMP-regulated environments.
Experience with Ariba or similar procurement systems.
Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and communication skills.
Willingness to work onsite and travel between project locations as required.
