Molex is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Principal Test Engineer that will lead the design, development, and deployment of the next generation of automated test systems for high-speed cable assemblies and related components. This role is critical to ensuring product quality, test efficiency, and alignment with customers and industry standards. The engineer will collaborate across design centers and manufacturing plants, supporting both NPD and production environments.

What You Will Do

  • Coordinate and lead the design and development of test systems, including hardware and software integration, for high-speed signal integrity (SI) validation.
  • Architect and implement cost effective automated test strategies for new product development (NPD) and production support.
  • Lead the development of test plans, verification protocols, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, quality and sourcing to ensure test coverage across critical to function areas of the design.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians, providing technical leadership and guidance.
  • Support global deployment of test systems and provide training to plant-based engineers and technicians.
  • Drive continuous improvement in test methodologies, automation frameworks and data analytics.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in test system design, signal integrity, and automation best practices.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineer, or related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in automated test engineering, preferably in high-speed interconnects or electronics manufacturing
  • Proficiency in Python or similar scripting languages for test automation
  • Strong understanding of signal integrity, VNA usage, and high-speed measurement techniques
  • Experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, VNAs, and EMI/ESD tools
  • Familiarity with configuration management, documentation standards, and quality systems
  • Exceptional communication skills with a talent for translating complex technical concepts into actionable strategies
  • Strong relationship-building skills with a focus on customer needs and a commitment to delivering superior results
  • Advanced problem-solving abilities, including knowledge of Design of Experiment and statistical analysis
  • Effective collaboration skills, with the ability to work across multiple departments and regions
  • Willingness to travel as required (up to 25%)
