The Patient Assistance Counselor II (PAC) plays a vital role in supporting patients who are uninsured, underinsured, or facing high out-of-pocket medical and prescription costs. These patients may qualify for assistance through the Patient Assistance Program (PAP). The PAC delivers exceptional customer service to both patients and healthcare providers (HCPs), facilitating access to specialty medications provided by the PAP.
Key responsibilities include: * Coordinating and reviewing application documentation. * Conducting insurance investigations when applicable. * Assessing patients' financial information. * Communicating outcome statuses to patients and HCPs. Requirements * Work Environment * Secure, private location for daily work. * Reliable, high-speed internet connection. * Professionalism * Maintain professional dress and appearance. * Demonstrate punctuality and consistent attendance, including timely return from breaks. * Technical Expertise * In-depth knowledge of commercial and government insurance programs, billing, reimbursement processes, prior authorizations, appeals, and specialty pharmacy operations. * Teamwork & Time Management * Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively within a team. * Attention to Detail * Strong technical accuracy and detail orientation. * Communication Skills * Professional verbal and written communication. * Ability to maintain a positive service image, even in challenging situations. * Experience * Minimum of 5 years in a regulated benefits environment. Skills * Insurance verification * Call center operations * Empathy and customer service Top Skills * Insurance verification * Call center experience Additional Qualifications * 5+ years of insurance verification experience * 5+ years of call center experience * High school diploma or equivalent * Demonstrated empathy and customer care Experience Level * Entry Level *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.80/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
