Position Title: Forklift Operator
Wage: $19/hour Shift: 1st Hours: Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm We are seeking a safety-focused and accuracy-driven Sit-Down Forklift Operator skilled in moving, stacking, and organizing inventory efficiently while maintaining top productivity and adhering to strict warehouse safety standards. This role involves operating mechanized material handling equipment, including reach trucks, double walkie riders, and stock pickers, to move merchandise safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of forklift experience in a warehouse or distribution center, ensuring adherence to productivity and safety standards. This is an associate to hire opportunity in Edgerton, KS. Forklift Operator Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Operate power equipment safely, following all company and OSHA guidelines - Successfully complete and maintain forklift certification (re-certification every 2 years) - Use RF scanning equipment to record inventory transactions accurately - Move products to and from designated locations while maintaining accuracy and efficiency - Perform manual inventory counts when required to ensure transaction accuracy - Conduct pre-shift equipment inspections, report any damage, and maintain a clean forklift - Monitor RF equipment functionality and report issues to the supervisor - Utilize warehouse software for equipment login and tracking - Assist with general warehouse duties as assigned Forklift Operator Requirements: - High school diploma or equivalent - Regular exposure to forklifts and motorized conveyors in a non-climate-controlled warehouse (95% of the time) - Moderate noise levels are present - Frequent standing, lifting (up to 50 pounds), reaching, and walking - Occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, and communicate clearly - Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision - Minimum 1 year of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution center - Ability to pass written and driving tests for forklift certification - Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) - Ability to effectively communicate and respond to questions in a team environment QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
