Transportation Maintenance Manager
As the Transportation Maintenance Manager you will be responsible for providing oversight and planning direct or indirect maintenance activities for the rolling fleet for Arcwood Transport.

Essential Functions & Requirements:



  • Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all times
  • Develops and manages a safe and productive workplace for respective Arcwood Transport or sub-contracted garage(s)
  • Develops and maintains relationships with vendors, orders supplies, and maintains parts inventory
  • Reviews and/or writes manuals for maintenance activities, and develops files in accordance with the Department of Transportation (DOT)
  • Plans, schedules, and establishes priorities / deadlines to ensure completion of maintenance activities in a safe environment, while meeting all dispatch obligations
  • Ensures all bill backs and job coding is completed within the appropriate maintenance platform (TMW)
  • Interviews, hires, trains, provides direction, and conducts performance evaluations for maintenance team members; establishes required shop hours accordingly
  • Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization


Education:



  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Completion of formal MIG/TIG welding training (required)
  • Completion of formal training in airbrake assembly/repair, air conditioning and SCR engines (required)
  • CDL license (preferred)


Experience:



  • 5+ years of experience in maintenance within the transportation industry (required)
  • 2+ years of related financial experience and responsibility of a transport maintenance facility (preferred)


Competencies:



  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude to lead a team of technicians
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
  • Regular and predictable attendance to perform the functions and requirements of this role
