Temple University's Psychology and Neuroscience Department is searching for a Part-time Research Assistant!

Position Summary

The Control and Adaptive Behavior Lab at Temple University (PI: Jason M Chein) is looking for a part-time Research Assistant who will start in late August/early September of 2025. Research in the Control and Adaptive Behavior Lab explores the development, training, and deployment of self-regulatory control in the service of adaptive behavior, and under conditions of distraction, emotional arousal, and social influence. Work in the lab deploys a convergent methodologies approach that features traditional behavioral experimentation, longitudinal and training studies, and functional and structural brain imaging using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI, fMRI). The part-time Research Assistant will support data collection and management efforts for an ongoing project exploring the links between self-regulation, cognitive and affective functioning, and digital technology habits (e.g. smartphone and social media use). Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

*B.A. or B.S. in Psychology, Neuroscience, Computer Science, or a related field, and at least 6 months of research experience.

*Research experience in brain-related sciences and/or psychology. Demonstrated experience with basic statistical software.

*An equivalent academic and research experience may be considered.

Required Skills and Abilities:

*Demonstrated computer skills and proficiency with MS Office suite (or equivalent).

*Demonstrated interpersonal, communication, and collaborative skills.

*Strong organizational and planning skills.

*Comfortable giving presentations to small groups.

*Ability to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends to administer study protocols as necessary.

Salary Range: $15.38/hr - $18.50/hr
