Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our Cyber Mission business unit in Annapolis Junction, MD. Our team develops and supports multiple solutions that automate manual processes, enabling mission customers to focus on complex, high-value challenges. We follow Agile methodologies and DevOps principles to ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable software. This position is based at a contractor facility, offering flexible work schedules. Telework options may also be available, depending on tasking and customer approval. As a Systems Engineer you will play a critical role in translating mission needs into system capabilities. You will:
Analyze user needs and draft Concept of Operations (CONOPS) documents.
Apply high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications. Analyze system requirements and support system design and development activities. Guide users in formulating requirements, provide recommendations on alternative approaches, and conduct feasibility studies. Plan and execute system verification and validation activities.
Additional Responsibilities:
Lead system development and implementation planning, including the preparation and assessment of system integration and test plans. Serve as a key technical liaison to the Government, addressing Systems Engineering considerations, issues, and risks. Collaborate closely with program personnel and government stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful delivery.
Qualifications
Eight (8) years of experience as a Systems Engineer (SE) on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity. Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related technical field from an accredited college or university is required.
Active TS/SCI clearance with a current polygraph is required. Proven experience planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts.
Required Skills & Abilities:
Expertise in implementing comprehensive Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) solutions. Ability to perform and/or approve end-to-end system trade analyses to optimize system performance throughout the life cycle. Experience ensuring effective configuration control of hardware, software, and documentation throughout system evolution. Skill in developing system design alternatives that consider cost, reuse, complexity, risk, scalability, and long-term growth. Familiarity with agency, national, and international standards relevant to system development efforts. Ability to recommend preferred solutions based on defined selection criteria. Capable of providing technical direction across the full systems engineering life cycle. Ability to fully define software interfaces, including origination, destination, stimulus, and data characteristics.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with agency-specific dataflow and reporting solutions. Demonstrated ability to develop performance, availability, scalability, manageability, and security requirements for mid-to-large scale systems. Experience leading agile development teams and working within agile methodologies. Knowledge of COTS and GOTS integration from multiple vendors. Experience designing and deploying storage solutions in clustered or cloud-based environments. Ability to plan and integrate secure, compliant solutions in accordance with legal, policy, and regulatory directives.

Target Salary Range
$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
