Responsibilities

The Systems Engineer is responsible for analyzing user requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop detailed system requirements specifications. This role plays a critical part in driving system design, development, and integration activities, while ensuring technical consistency and mission alignment.

Key Responsibilities:

    Analyze system requirements and lead system design and development efforts.

  • Guide users in defining requirements, advise on alternative technical approaches, and conduct feasibility studies.

  • Provide technical leadership in the integration of requirements, design, and emerging technologies.

  • Incorporate new designs, plans, and systems into existing operational environments.

  • Develop comprehensive technical documentation, including system architecture and system design documents.

  • Plan and guide implementation through the creation or review of System Engineering Management Plans (SEMPs) and System Integration & Test Plans (SITPs).

  • Act as a key technical interface with government stakeholders, addressing technical issues, resolving conflicts, and ensuring alignment with program objectives.

  • Ensure the technical integrity of all systems engineering deliverables.

  • Collaborate and communicate with program personnel, government oversight teams, and senior leadership.

Additional Skills and Requirements:
  • Familiarity with the Linux command line environment.

  • Experience with mission systems or mission data formats is highly desirable.

  • Background working with software systems in any capacity.

  • Strong interpersonal, customer support, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to take direction, interpret requirements, and work independently with minimal supervision.

  • This position requires participation in an on-call rotation, typically one week every 6 to 8 weeks.



Qualifications

  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience as a Systems Engineer on programs and contracts of comparable scope, type, and complexity.

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.

  • Five (5) additional years of relevant Systems Engineering experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor's degree.

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required.

Target Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
