ROLE OVERVIEW:

This is a seasonal position, you can use your winters off to travel, hunt, fish or for other activities you enjoy while your benefits continue year round. Responsible to safely supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in grading and efficiently run the gravel/base operations.

EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:



  1. Over 2 years up to and including 4 years from post high school, work, military, institutional or vocational environment.
  2. Minimum 5 years' experience in product line and supervisory role
  3. Ability to provide and maintain proper licensure, medical card and acceptable driving record.


DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES:



  1. Perform daily equipment, walk around and site inspections to identify and correct any unsafe conditions and keep equipment properly maintained.
  2. Safely and properly manage and coordinate activities of projects.
  3. Directs construction and maintenance of roads or streets and projects.
  4. Complete quality gravel/base jobs within specifications.
  5. Complete necessary paperwork.
  6. Approve and submit work hours for crew and pertinent job information daily.
  7. Monitor and evaluates daily production and plans/schedules work according to daily evaluations.
  8. Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with people under high stress situations. Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations and act courteous/respectful of others.
  9. Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc.). Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors.
  10. Ensure MSHA, OSHA, EPA, DNR, Lockout/Tagout, safety and environmental regulation compliance.
  11. Work with Human Resource Department on recruiting needs, employee relations issues, training and development of crew members.
