Job Details:

Prepares clear, complete, high quality erection drawings, shop drawings and bills of material from design calculations and building contracts, utilizing our companies' computer system within the scheduled deadlines by performing the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Produces preliminary and final drawings, shop drawings and bills of material

utilizing the drafting department checklists and standard manual.*

2. Utilizes industry specific software programs, knowledge of plant capabilities,

mathematics and engineering practices to complete the drawings and bill of

materials on time to maintain plant schedule.*

3. Performs calculations prior to making any adjustments or changes necessary or

desired ensuring compliance with design engineering requirements and

manufacturing capabilities.*

4. Reviews all areas of disagreement/discrepancy with the checker to ensure a

mistake-free, finished product.*

5. Assists the Drafting Coordinator in developing and the maintaining of standard

drawings for example standard details, trims, clips, plates and the Drafting

Department's technical manual.*

6. Assists in the development and training of department personnel in compliance

with engineering requirements, the drafting department's manual and plant

capabilities.*

7. Represents the company with the highest professional and ethical standards in

dealing with internal and external customers.*

8. Assists the Sales Department with standard drawings for details, trims and

website information.

9. Investigates any special projects or tasks when assigned by the Drafting

Coordinator.

10. Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops or classes,

reading technical publications and researching industry products.

11. Keeps equipment operational by following instructions and established

procedures.

12. Performs other duties as assigned by the Drafting Coordinator.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two to four years in metal

building related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Language abilities are required in the English language.

Math Ability:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word; Microsoft Excel; Metal Building Software; Microsoft Internet Explorer and Microsoft Outlook.
