Custodian Lead - Days

Monday - Wednesday and every other Thursday 5:00am - 5:00pm

The hourly wage for this position is $24.06 to $25.02.

New Hire Sign On Bonus - $2,000

This highly visible position is located at our Vancouver, WA facility.

What you'll do:

This position performs custodial duties and minor repairs, assists in sanitation control, checks for safety hazards, and leads custodial staff.

Essential Functions:

  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), company policies, safety policies and practices, quality standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

  • Responsible at all times for ensuring that tasks are performed according to food safety, quality, and regulatory guidelines.

  • Manage the scheduled Sanitation Work Orders for assigned shift.

  • Maintain cleanliness of the following areas to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards:

  • Building exteriors, parking lots, grounds, etc.

  • Assigned operations areas, office spaces, restrooms, warehouses, etc.

  • Sweep, scrub, wax, and polish floors using brooms, mops, and powered scrubbing/waxing machines.

  • Clean rugs, carpets, furniture, and draperies using vacuum cleaner.

  • Polish metalwork, such as fixtures and fittings.

  • Wash exterior walls, parking lot, and silos using a pressure washer.

  • Wash windows, door panels, and sills.

  • Clean production floors and drains using chemicals.

  • Empty 55-gallon trash cans and transports trash to 40-yard containers located outside the buildings several times per day.

  • Replenish kitchen and bathroom supplies.

  • Perform minor and routine maintenance activities using hand tools when needed.

  • Keep janitorial areas neat and orderly.

  • Communicate supply needs to the Sanitation Supervisor.

  • Notify the Sanitation Supervisor of the need for minor and major repairs.

  • Assist the Supervisor with SAP computer system data entry when needed.

  • Clean and sanitize according to SOP and GMP standards.

  • Complete appropriate cleaning logs as required.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What you'll need:

  • High School Diploma or GED required. Custodial and lead experience.

  • Ability to operate a forklift and a scissor lift.

  • Ability to operate a floor scrubber and floor sweeper.

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Ability to read and write in English.

  • Well organized and able to maintain professional conduct at all times.

  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Knowledge of and familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDSs) and Safety Data Sheets (SDSs).

  • Ability to maintain punctuality and predictable attendance.

  • Ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment and clean room attire; perform moderate physical activity which requires standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day and up to twelve (12) hours per shift and lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds; and perform work onsite in a light industrial environment, including some exposure to non-toxic dust.
