Senior Logistics Program Manager/Special Programs

Location: Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio

Minimum Clearance Required: Top Secret/SCI

As a Senior Logistics Program Manager/Special Programs, you will be responsible for leading the logistics and supply chain operations supporting ten (10) advanced aerospace programs, including highly modified classified aircraft. The Logistics Manager serves as the SME for Special Access Required (SAR) program sustainment, overseeing inventory systems, property accountability, and life-cycle logistics compliance. The position manages funding forecasts, contract oversight, audit readiness, and coordination between contractors, government stakeholders, and program offices. It ensures seamless depot and field support through expert planning, reporting, and execution of sustainment strategies.

Who You Are and What You Need:



  • Bachelor of Science degree in management, acquisition, logistics, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in DoD acquisition, logistics, and/or supply chain management
  • Working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) as it pertains to government property
  • Proficiency in the requirements and application of Financial Improvement and Audit Remediation (FIAR) initiatives
  • Working knowledge of contractor organizational functions related to program sustainment
  • Ability to integrate various planning functions into cohesive logistics management programs
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and web-based technologies
  • Proven track record of problem solving, decision making, and financial and logistical management
  • Working knowledge of DoD and USAF regulations related to supply chain management
  • Familiarity with DoD and USAF safety and security regulatory policies
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess issues and develop solutions to complex logistical challenges
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly, concisely, and accurately
  • Ability to conduct logistical analyses and provide actionable recommendations and corrective actions
  • Working knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) and the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA)



What You Will Do:



  • Lead special logistics operations at depot and field locations supporting 10 advanced programs, including highly modified classified and unclassified aircraft.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) in logistics management and oversight of Special Access Required (SAR) programs.
  • Act as Project Manager for the Big Safari Inventory (BSI) supply system, ensuring seamless sustainment support at depot and field sites.
  • Provide BSI funding forecasts to 645 AESG Program Managers to meet ongoing life-cycle sustainment requirements.
  • Implement Accountable Property System of Record (APSR) processes to ensure compliance with DoDI 5000.64.
  • Maintain 100% accountability of government property by enforcing contractor compliance with AFI 23-101, AFMAN 23-122, and AFH 23-123.
  • Lead compliance with Life Cycle Management Plans and Logistics Support Plans (LSPs), authoring and reviewing plan documentation across multiple sites.
  • Oversee and manage BSI/BSI Pro projects, including budgeting, contract management, manpower planning, and training.
  • Conduct monthly logistics and BSI meetings to assess fleet health and optimize program support.
  • Monitor and audit BSI transactions; develop procedures to maintain auditable records by transaction type (receipt, issue, inventory, disposal, etc.).
  • Manage Military Equipment Valuation (MEV) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) reporting, including quarterly validation of high-value assets.
  • Coordinate with internal and external audit agencies to ensure audit readiness.
  • Act as the logistics liaison between user commands and Big Safari prime contractors for all sustainment and inventory-related concerns.
  • Direct contractors on procurement strategies, particularly for delayed commercial requisitions.
  • Plan and lead logistical operations for depot and Contractor Operated Maintained Base Supply (COMBS) sites.
  • Oversee part number/NSN validation and end-of-year procurement and repair cycle pipelines.
  • Analyze fleet spares posture, validate new aircraft/system spares packages, and manage unfunded procurement lists.
  • Conduct annual contractor reviews of peculiar (non-stocklisted) excess assets and ensure appropriate disposition.
  • Support and review over 30 annual program contracts, ensuring inclusion of logistics and property language.
  • Advise on government property acquisition lists, contractor responsibilities, and audit-compliant contract language.
  • Provide logistics reporting through Monthly Logistics Reports (CDRLs), and lead program-to-program part transfers of specialized components.
  • Ensure compliance with DTR shipping requirements for sensitive, classified, and controlled materials.
  • Manage inventory shelf-life control and all personal/vendor loan accounts for full accountability.
  • Coordinate logistics between platforms to optimize shared asset use across the program portfolio.
  • Provide logistics briefings and defend sustainment operations to senior Air Force leadership and MAJCOM stakeholders.
  • Lead contract development efforts, including writing and reviewing Statements of Work (SOWs) and Performance Work Statements (PWSs).
  • Mentor and lead depot/field contractor teams during program stand-ups, adhering to Air Force life-cycle logistics standards.
  • Advise Big Safari depots and Wright-Patterson AFB Accounting & Finance personnel on sustainment best practices and financial integrity.
