Cloud Engineer

Lee Enterprises is seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer with a strong Dev Ops orientation to help architect, build, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure. In this role, you'll collaborate with software engineers, Tech Ops, and security teams to deliver highly reliable, secure, and automated cloud-based solutions. You'll be instrumental in driving our infrastructure-as-code practices, CI/CD pipelines, and observability frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure in Amazon Web Services
• Ensure high availability, scalability, and cost-efficiency of cloud resources
• Manage VPCs, IAM, networking, security groups, load balancers, and cloud-native services
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Git Hub Actions
• Develop infrastructure-as-code using Terraform/AWS Cloud Formation
• Automate cloud provisioning, deployments, and configuration management
• Set up and manage patching, logging, alerting, and monitoring tools
• Implement proactive monitoring for performance, availability, and security incidents
• Collaborate closely with developers to create a developer-friendly cloud platform
• Support incident response, root cause analysis, and performance tuning
• Participate in on-call rotations for incident response/service restoration activities

Qualifications

Required:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in cloud engineering and Dev Ops roles
• Strong experience with at least one public cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, Go)
• Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and orchestration tools (Kubernetes, ECS, EKS, or AKS)
• Understanding of network concepts, DNS, firewalls, load balancers, and VPNs
• Windows/Linux Operating Systems

Preferred:

• Familiarity with serverless architectures and event-driven computing
• Knowledge of Git Ops practices and tools
• Cloud certifications (AWS preferred)
