Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Functional Nursing Director of Transplant, or appropriate designee, and in accordance with established procedures, the Organ Placement Coordinator receives, evaluates, and coordinates organ import offers for the CTC. The Organ Placement Coordinator is responsible for the organ placement for transplant and research, coordination of transportation, and communication to transplant center staff for all import organ donors. Frequent communication with transplant surgeons and transplant coordinators.

HOURS



  • 40 hours/week ultimately, but it's 12-hour and/or 24-hour shifts, totalling 80 hours/biweekly (rotating shifts of 12 and 24 hours)
  • Weekends, nights rotating shifts
  • REMOTE with exception of quarterly roundtable - Seminar day - incorporated in to work schedule.
  • Out of state employees residing in the states that Johns Hopkins is registered to support remotely (MD, VA, D.C., PA, FL and DE only) can "remote in" for these meetings. Employees in state are expected to attend in person.
  • 2-3 Day in-person orientation on-site, unless out-of-state, in which case a remote orientation would take place.
  • Must be able to work overnight, weekends and holidays. Must be flexible.
  • Must be able to work remotely with reliable internet service.


Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree in nursing, EMS, healthcare studies, or biology. 4+ years of relevant experience in medical field or health sciences (EMT, Paramedic, LPN, EMS dispatcher) and/or equivalent work experience may be substituted for education, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Experience



  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology and human anatomy.
  • Experience multi-tasking in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Effective problem solving, conflict management and creative thinking skills.
  • Flexibility as it relates to schedule, responsibilities and priorities.
  • Not required, but experience in transplant is encouraged.

Salary Range: Minimum 33.90/hour - Maximum 55.98/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
