The Moores Cancer Center (MCC) is one of just 54 NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers in the United States and the only one in San Diego County. As a consortium cancer center, it is a collaborative partnership between the UCSD: encompassing 28 departments, 6 schools (School of Medicine, Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, School of Public Health, Jacobs School of Engineering, School of Biological Sciences & the School of Physical Sciences), UCSD Health oncology hospitals and clinics; the basic and public health research and outreach of San Diego State University (SDSU), and the basic and translational research of the La Jolla Institute of Immunology (LJI). The Clinical Trials Office (CTO) at UCSD's Moores Cancer Center administers many clinical trials on behalf of its member investigators, including trials sponsored by National Cancer Institute cooperative groups, pharmaceutical companies, and physician investigators.

The Regulatory Support Analyst will provide front-line support to physicians, staff, and research teams within the Clinical Trials Office (CTO), helping to resolve basic regulatory issues and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks. This role communicates task status regularly and flags issues to the supervisor as needed.

Working as part of a collaborative support team, the Regulatory Support Analyst contributes to infrastructure that supports high-quality, innovative translational research at UC San Diego. The position assists with special projects and routine analyses, gaining exposure to regulatory operations and developing skills in problem-solving, data gathering, and process evaluation.

At the discretion of the supervisor, may support additional research projects and perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Four years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area.

  • Basic knowledge of clinical trials regulatory research processes and protocols.

  • Basic experience with uploading regulatory and clinical trial documentation to eRegulatory system.

  • Basic experience with project management platforms (e.g., Monday.com).

  • Skills to learn organization-specific and other computer application programs.

  • Basic communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.

  • Ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.

  • Basic program and project management skills.

  • Acquiring knowledge of applicable policy analysis techniques.

  • Basic skills to analyze and research information and learn to synthesize large amounts of data with strong attention to detail.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Excellent skills to communicate effectively, diplomatically, and professionally, both orally and in writing.

  • Proficient in ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes. Ability to lead or support multiple projects or protocols simultaneously, with wide variety of investigators and administrative stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated ability to respond and adapt to new and changing situations.

  • Experience with management systems for travel, reimbursements, purchase orders, etc.

  • Knowledge of medical and research terminology.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of University policies and procedures. Demonstrated experience using UCSD business systems.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $53,800 - $91,000 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $25.77 - $43.58

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
