Job Description

General Description:

Under the general direction of the CEO of the Jane and Leonard Korman Respiratory Institute and the Director of the Lung Cancer Screening Program, the Lung Cancer Screening Nurse Practitioner is responsible for the coordination, management and oversight of the Lung Cancer Screening Program (LCSP) for Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Methodist Hospital and the Navy Yard outpatient campus. This position requires independent leadership to create, implement and coordinate quality patient care. The nurse practitioner is the primary contact for both patients and as well as providers, nurses and support staff within the program and in coordination with the Respiratory Institute.

Essential Responsibilities:

* Manages and oversees Lung Cancer Screening program utilizing standard operating procedures and policies to ensure compliance with eligibility criteria and CMS approved registry.

* Involvement in marketing of the program across the Jefferson Health Enterprise.

* Acts as the liaison for the LCSP with radiology, pulmonary, thoracic surgery and all other internal and external departments as needed.

* Ensure all CT lung screening patient results are obtained, reviewed and tracked.

* Monitors and provides assistance with quality assurance and compliance functions.

* Participates in care of patients in the multidisciplinary Lung Nodule Clinic

Team Work: Ability to lead collaborative teams for larger projects or groups both internal and external to the organization and across functional areas. Results have implications for the management and operations of multiple areas of the organization.
Customer Service: Ability to provide a high level of customer service and staff training to meet customer service standards and expectations for the program. Resolves service issues in a timely and respectful manner.

National Board Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
