We are hiring an experienced Financial Analyst to help improve how the County plans, for, tracks and evaluates the use of public resources. Job Summary

Loudoun County's Department of Finance and Procurement is seeking qualified candidates with strong analytical and data skills who thrive in a fast-paced work environment to fill the full-time position of Financial Analyst. Under the direction of the Financial Analysis Manager, this position develops and executes financial analysis for the organization, and departments in areas such as fiscal sustainability, economic development, space planning, and supports decision-making through analysis, validation and processing of financial data to assess efficiency. Additionally, this position will support performance tracking of relevant department and program activities.

The role focuses on transforming financial and operational data into actionable insights that support leadership decision-making. Key responsibilities include developing financial models, estimating costs, analyzing investment scenarios, and building tools to monitor and forecast the performance of County programs and internal operations. The analyst will also help track and assess the performance of the Department of Finance and Procurement itself, contributing to continuous improvement efforts.

This position works with data from a range of sources, systems and tools, including the County's Oracle-based ERP platform, and contributes to the development of dashboards, reports and visualizations that improve access to information across departments. The ability to translate complex data into clear, meaningful insights is critical. The ideal candidate would also bring strong leadership and analytical skills, experience working with diverse financial portfolios, and a proven ability to conduct financial modeling.

The successful candidate is eligible for the County's benefit package, which includes extremely competitive health, dental and vision insurance; enrollment in the Virginia Retirement System; matching contributions to deferred compensation plan, and annual and sick leave benefits. This position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule in accordance with the County's telework policy.

Hiring salary will be commensurate with experience.


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related area; two (2) years of related professional level financial analysis work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Prefer professional certification in areas related to the assigned department and active membership in job-related professional organizations.
