Job Description
The University of Missouri is hiring a Director of Advancement to work as a fundraising team member for the Office of Gift Planning. This position will work under the supervision and guidance of the Executive Director of Advancement and in close collaboration with other Division of Advancement team members and unit staff. This position will have the opportunity to: * Cultivate, solicit, and steward planned gifts that align donor interests with institutional priorities. * Develop and implement strategic approaches for donor engagement throughout the giving cycle. * Build and maintain authentic relationships to facilitate meaningful contributions. * Conduct donor research and ask insightful questions to understand motivations and giving habits. * Facilitate planned gifts using instruments such as unitrusts, charitable gift annuities, bequests, and insurance contracts. * Partners with internal teams and external professionals (e.g., attorneys, financial advisors) on planned giving matters. * Manage travel and donor engagement budgets. * Maintain accurate records of donor interactions using the prospect management system. * Travel domestically and maintain a valid driver's license and wireless service. * Support additional development-related initiatives as needed. Shift
M-F 8am-5pm, and includes 30% travel with occasional evenings and weekends to support special donor events.
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
* JD or advanced degree. * Experience in a large university advancement setting. * Two or more years of progressive fundraising experience. * Deep understanding of the donor lifecycle (cultivation, solicitation, closing, stewardship). * Proficiency in planned giving mechanisms, including bequests, trusts, and charitable gift annuities, and a commitment to ongoing learning in these areas. * Evidence of self-motivation, commitment to excellence, and a collaborative work ethic
Anticipated Hiring Range
Salary Range: $72,500-$85,000 Annually Grade: GGS-012 University Title: Advancement Director II Internal applicants can determine their University title by accessing the Talent Profile tile in myHR.
