About the Role

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you'll play a key role in shaping the financial direction of First Western. You'll manage forecasting and planning cycles, lead financial modeling and variance analysis, and deliver insights that support strategic decision-making across departments. This role is highly collaborative, requiring both analytical depth and clear communication as you partner with leaders to evaluate trends, identify risks and opportunities, and implement improvements to business processes. Your work will directly support the financial health and long-term planning of the organization.



What You'll Do

  • Analyze financial performance by reviewing actuals versus forecasts, investigating material variances, and providing insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Develop financial models for operational results, forecasts, and business plans to support leadership decision-making.
  • Coordinate and drive the Company's planning processes, compiling and modeling department inputs into forecasts and budgets, and developing tools to improve accuracy.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators, perform trend and industry analysis, and recommend strategic actions based on findings.
  • Collaborate with finance and accounting teams on the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process, including audit support and ensuring correct financial reflection in reporting.
  • Manage the asset/liability modeling (ALM) function of the Bank, analyze results, and provide strategic input.
  • Perform and lead ad hoc analysis and modeling, including special projects such as goodwill impairment and expansion due diligence.
  • Identify and implement process improvements across finance and adjacent functions; introduce new reporting formats and analytical tools.
  • Provide valuation support, coordinate special reporting projects, and make recommendations for optimizing reporting efficiency.
  • Supervise and coach junior analysts, managing workflow, supporting development, and ensuring project execution.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of applicable laws, regulations, internal policies, and procedures to ensure compliance.



What You Bring



  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or Master's in Accounting or Finance preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in a finance role with a strong understanding of business operations and complex financial projects.
  • 1-3 years of experience in financial services preferred.
  • 1-3 years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data modeling and spreadsheet development.
  • Proficiency in managing and extracting insights from large datasets across systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop and implement solutions.
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex financial concepts to a variety of audiences.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with strong attention to detail and sense of urgency.
  • Experience with financial planning software and advanced reporting tools preferred.
  • CPA or CFA certification preferred.
