The salary range for this position takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. As a Senior Data Analyst on our College Insights Analytics team, you'll play a strategic role in helping academic leaders understand what's working, what's not, and where we can go next. About the Team College Insights Analytics is part of WGU's larger Institutional Analytics & Research (IAR) division. We partner closely with academic leadership across four WGU schools to deliver meaningful insights and strategic guidance that drive student success. Our tools range from dashboards to advanced machine learning models-and our work directly supports decision-making at the highest levels of the university. What You'll Do Act as a trusted advisor to academic leadership-delivering analytics that inform decisions, shape strategy, and support long-term goals. Combine data, storytelling, and visualization to surface insights that matter and instigate action. Lead complex analysis and collaborate with stakeholders across Data Engineering, Product, Finance, and EdTech. Identify the right data sources and methods to evaluate hypotheses, test ideas, and uncover trends. Track and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), provide interpretation, and help define what success looks like. Own and manage medium-to-large-scale analytics projects from scoping through execution and delivery. Troubleshoot and resolve complex data issues, while improving data quality and governance across systems. Present insights in a variety of formats-from dashboards and written reports to live presentations and strategy sessions. Support strategic planning cycles by aligning analytics priorities with institutional objectives. What You'll Bring 7+ years of hands-on experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a related field. Strong fluency in data storytelling, stakeholder management, and translating insights into action. Deep understanding of data analysis tools and techniques, including experience with SQL, Tableau/Power BI, Python or R. Familiarity with key higher education metrics-or an eagerness to learn and apply domain expertise. Strong judgment, systems thinking, and problem-solving abilities. A collaborative mindset, curiosity, and a drive to build and improve. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree (MBA or similar) Experience working directly with academic leaders or in a mission-driven, data-rich environment Work Location This is a full-time, in-office position at WGU's headquarters in Salt Lake City, UT.
